Regarding this new concept, cellulose which is the most abundant natural polymer on Earth, can be transformed in a wide array of high-added value products such as micro and nanocellulose with promising and outstanding properties. Moreover, because of the hydrophilic nature of cellulose, micro and nanocellulose modification is of interest to add new interesting properties to these particles and open up new possibilities in the most strategic sectors of the economy and products which pursue improvement.
