On the 27th and 28th of January, the kickoff meeting of the SHAPE I&E project took place in Stockholm and hosted by the KTH coordinating the project.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
SHAPE I&E spotlights the breadth of today’s technical possibilities for wellness and lifestyle applications but with a focus on the translation of highest-level scientific knowledge via sports, ergonomics and big data from wearable devices and sensors. Data collected of motion, posture and other social aspects not only at the level of the individual, but also the individual in the environment. SHAPE I&E addresses both internal and external influencers. Physical data from citizens, including elderly, children and professional athletes will be translated into contributions to healthy living for all, boosting public health initiatives and wellness innovations to new levels over and above a drive to increase physical activity. Keeping the mind fit through sports and other practices (meditation, active learning) is also of importance. Graduates from the programme will be the innovators and entrepreneurs of the future, enabled to create bridges between human science, technology and health.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The Master\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s program in digital transformation to shape future wellness (SHAPE I&E), results from a collaboration between EIT Health partners in both academic and non-academic (e.g. industry, research centres) fields, to train a new generation of master\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s graduates with advanced skills and approaches in health-related engineering and innovation.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The overall aim of SHAPE I&E is to exploit today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s smartphone world to train young people to work towards technical and business solutions for healthy living and active ageing in order to encourage good health habits in the general population and to promote the future wellness of all citizens.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
A major goal is to enable future scientists and entrepreneurs to create engineering and business solutions that enable citizens to monitor and manage their own health by being informed and skilled in making wellness-driven choices.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
