The 2016 edition was the 8th in a continuing series of international meetings and was held in Boston, USA, from June 1-4, 2016. The theme of this edition was &#8220;A Decade of Nanotoxicology: Impact on Human Health and Environment.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Julia Catal\u00e1n from FIOH, Margriet Park from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rivm.nl\/en\">RIVM<\/a>, and Joan Cabellos from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leitat.org\">LEITAT<\/a> attended the meeting and presented scientific results from the research conducted within the framework of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guidenano.eu\/\">GUIDEnano<\/a> project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Julia Catal\u00e1n gave a talk on &#8220;Genotoxicity of Metal Nanoparticles \u2013 Possible Nano-specific Effects,&#8221; Margriet Park presented a poster titled &#8220;Hazard Evaluation in GUIDEnano: A Web-based Guidance Tool for Risk Assessment and Mitigation of Nano-enabled Products,&#8221; and Joan Cabellos presented two posters with the titles &#8220;Coating Hydrophobicity Modulates the Intestinal Absorption of Nanomaterials&#8221; and &#8220;Influence of Different Experimental Variables in the Prediction of Nanomaterial Intestinal Absorption.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The objective of this conference is to bring together scientists from academia, industry, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations to present current research findings, focus their respective talents and expertise, and initiate new collaborations to ensure the safe implementation of nanotechnology.
