This meeting served as a key connection point to assess the current status of the project, share recent progress, and establish the next steps to continue advancing the development of innovative and sustainable technologies applied to the recovery of contaminated soils.<\/p><p data-start=\"539\" data-end=\"1070\">During the session, the participating teams reviewed the preliminary results obtained so far and analyzed different strategies to optimize soil remediation processes with reduced environmental impact. In this regard, special emphasis was placed on the use of biobased compounds as agents capable of reducing surface tension, thereby facilitating the micellar extraction of unwanted metals. This approach allows for more efficient and environmentally friendly decontamination, reducing the need for conventional chemical products.<\/p><p data-start=\"1072\" data-end=\"1488\">In addition, nature-based solutions were explored with the aim of concentrating contaminants and facilitating the reuse of surfactant solutions applied in the in situ washing process of soils contaminated with heavy metals. These approaches not only contribute to improving the effectiveness of the decontamination process but also align with the principles of circular economy and sustainable resource management.<\/p><p data-start=\"1490\" data-end=\"1966\">The Leitat team, composed of Laura Batlle, In\u00e9s Sanchis, Daniel M\u00e1rquez, Beatriz Guerrero, Ainhoa Gaudes, and Iv\u00e1n Ortiz, had a highly enriching technical exchange with the representatives from Control Demeter: Agn\u00e9s de Paz, Eladi Oliva, and Estefan\u00eda Siscar. The collaboration between the two entities has become an essential element for the progress of the project, combining scientific expertise, technical knowledge, and a shared vision toward a more sustainable future.<\/p><p data-start=\"1968\" data-end=\"2368\">The ESCRUM project is supported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accio.gencat.cat\/es\/inici\/index.html\">ACCI\u00d3<\/a> and is part of Leitat\u2019s commitment to sustainable innovation, environmental protection, and the promotion of the circular economy.
