The Water Sensitive City (WSC) Action Plan, developed within the framework of the project, has received official endorsement following the Urban Development Group (UDG) meeting held on 25 September, after the public consultation was completed and the contributions received were incorporated. <\/p>\n
The plan connects European water resilience objectives with their local implementation to help cities of different sizes address challenges such as flooding, drought, water scarcity and declining water quality.. Through seven complementary actions, it seeks to integrate water into urban planning, promote water retention and efficient use, and facilitate its reuse. It also aims to restore the natural water cycle and reduce runoff, helping to improve the urban environment and its adaptation to climate change. <\/span><\/p>\n Within this initiative, Leitat leads Action 6, focused on knowledge and capacity building, Knowledge and Capacity Building, with the aim of supporting local and regional authorities in implementing water-sensitive urban approaches. <\/span><\/p>\n This action includes the preparation of a Good Practices Compendium,as well as the development of training materials and capacity-building activities.
