Aquesta p\u00e8rdua de biodiversitat es deu principalment a la conversi\u00f3 dels h\u00e0bitats marins en entorns hostils per a la flora i la fauna marina, degut a l&#8217;augment de l&#8217;activitat costanera i el tr\u00e0fic mar\u00edtim, aix\u00ed com a la contaminaci\u00f3 causada per l&#8217;abocament de residus a les aig\u00fces.<\/p>\n<p>El passat 19 de gener va tenir lloc, a les instal\u00b7lacions del SARTI-UPC, a Vilanova i la Geltr\u00fa, la primera reuni\u00f3 pel llan\u00e7ament del projecte, que compta amb el suport d\u2019ACCI\u00d3 &#8211; Ag\u00e8ncia per la Competitivitat de l&#8217;Empresa, en la seva l\u00ednia de subvencions a projectes de recerca industrial i desenvolupament experimental de l\u2019any 2022.<\/p>\n<p>El projecte SEASLAG proposa una soluci\u00f3 enfocada en una economia sostenible i circular que promou el desenvolupament social i econ\u00f2mic respectu\u00f3s amb el medi ambient i la conservaci\u00f3 dels recursos naturals. Concretament, se centra en la recerca i el desenvolupament d&#8217;un nou material sostenible per a la creaci\u00f3 d&#8217;estructures de regeneraci\u00f3 ambiental que permetin el creixement de la biodiversitat marina.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Per portar-ho a terme, i com a principal innovaci\u00f3 diferencial del projecte SEASLAG,&nbsp; s&#8217;estudiar\u00e0 la incorporaci\u00f3 i la valoritzaci\u00f3 de subproductes obtinguts de la ind\u00fastria sider\u00fargica, com ara l\u2019esc\u00f2ria blanca, i de la ind\u00fastria agroaliment\u00e0ria, com s\u00f3n les closques de bivalves i les closques d\u2019ou, per desenvolupar un nou material natural per a la construcci\u00f3 d\u2019estructures de regeneraci\u00f3 marina. L\u2019objectiu \u00e9s maximitzar la capacitat de bioregeneraci\u00f3 i fomentar l&#8217;economia circular, ja que amb aix\u00f2 s\u2019aconseguir\u00e0 reduir l&#8217;\u00fas de mat\u00e8ries primeres d&#8217;origen natural i valoritzar materials que actualment no tenen una segona vida.<\/p>\n<p>Actualment, les solucions desenvolupades per a la regeneraci\u00f3 marina es basen en la construcci\u00f3 d&#8217;esculls artificials utilitzant mat\u00e8ries primeres com el formig\u00f3, l&#8217;acer o els derivats del polipropil\u00e8, donant lloc a unes estructures resistents aptes pel creixement de la vida marina.
