This cooperation agreement is the result of the need increasingly felt by the European Commission to achieve integrated and effective data acquisition systems able to build the Roadmap for a European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) as it is set in the Marine Knowledge 2020 agenda.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first coordination meeting hosted by the DG Research &amp; Innovation in Brussels took place Last December 18<sup>th<\/sup>. As common objective and overall goal of the four projects will be the development of Multifunctional and Cost-Effective Maritime Sensors interoperable with International existing Ocean Observing Systems.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This meeting helped discuss project objectives and planning towards adhering to GEOSS Data Sharing Principles and ways to exchange knowledge and experience between the projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The four projects funded under the FP7 call Oceans of Tomorrow 2013.2 are COMMON SENSE, coordinated by Leitat; NEXOS coordinated by Plataforma Oce\u00e1nica de Canarias; SCHeMA coordinated by Universite de Geneve and SenseOCEAN coordinated by Natural Environment Research Council of United Kingdom.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This e-open collaboration group, conducted by the coordinators of the four projects funded under OCEAN 2013.2 call, is aimed at establishing common methodologies and standards for data achieving, discovery and access within Global Earth Observation System of System (GEOSS).
