The company has developed its unequalled technology around sulfur-based cathode materials, highly stable electrolyte systems, and anodes made of lithium metal. OXIS is already able to produce cells that are superior in terms of safety, weight, cycle life, and ageing. OXIS is based at the Culham Science Centre near Oxford in the UK, at the site where the original li-ion batteries were developed and prototyped. OXIS has well-equipped laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and one of the largest dry room facilities in Europe.
