RESPIRATORY PROTECTIONS

WHAT ARE THEY?

Respiratory protection equipment protects the users against environmental pollutants reducing the concentration of those substances, in the inhalation area, at levels under the occupational exposure limits. They may be harmful substances (particles, gases, vapours, biological agents) or because of lack of oxygen.

TYPES OF RESPIRATORY PROTECTIONS

There are two types of respiratory protection, filtering and insulating equipment, of which Leitat certifies:

FILTERING

Filtering half-masks use a filter to eliminate the pollutants of the breathed air, through the use of a filtering material. That material can be a part of the half-mask itself or an independent filter added to the half-mask. There are also motorized equipment, which feature a ventilating motor that drives air through a filter. Different types of face adapters such as masks, helmets, hoods, etc. can be used.
