The ALBATROSS M42 Consortium Meeting in San Sebastián

The ALBATROSS project consortium, formed by 21 partners, gathered on 10–11 July 2024 at the Gipuzkoa Science and Technology Park in San Sebastián, Spain, for the project’s M42 meeting.

The event focused on advancing battery innovations for electric and hybrid vehicles, with updates on lightweight design, thermal management, and second-life applications.

Leitat presented its validated semi-automatic robotic dismantling cell, developed for the disassembly of the ALBATROSS battery pack. This technology directly contributes to the project’s Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Eco-Design strategy.

The meeting also highlighted progress in system integration, vehicle-level testing and validation, including real and virtual demos for BMW i3 and commercial vehicles.
