We carry out comprehensive projects in the field of applied chemistry and new materials, encompassing the entire value chain from the synthesis of new molecules, the formulation of raw materials, scaling of manufacturing processes at the pilot level and validation of new technologies including accelerated aging, stability and efficiency or mechanical properties.

We aim to help the industry develop its projects at any stage of the value chain, with the goal of providing knowledge and innovation. By creating new products and processes, we seek to build a strong and dynamic industrial base.

Synthesis

  • Synthesis of organic molecules by conventional techniques and flow chemistry.
  • Study and synthesis of polymers and biopolymers, resins, organic compounds, surfactants and oils.
  • Synthesis of micro and nanocapsules.
  • Synthesis and surface modification of metallic nanomaterials, ceramics, nanofibers and carbonaceous structures.

Design and formulation

  • Transformation of polymers using conventional techniques (injection, extrusion blow molding and injection blow molding).

David Amantia

David Amantia

Head of the Applied Chemistry and Materials Department

David Amantia has a degree in chemistry from the University of Montpellier in France, a PhD in bioinorganic chemistry from the University of Newcastle in the United Kingdom and continued his academic research as a postdoc at the University of Barcelona. In addition, he holds a degree in Management and Business focused on Innovation from the UPC Business School. He is currently the director of the Department of Applied Chemistry and Materials at Leitat.
