Leitat is a private non-profit technology centre founded in 1906 and headquartered in Terrassa (Barcelona). It specialises in applied research, technological development and technology transfer. It works with companies and institutions to turn technological and industrial challenges into market-ready solutions, improve their competitiveness and generate economic, social and environmental impact.

The scope is tailored to each project and can combine different Leitat capabilities, technologies and facilities.
Yes. Leitat holds various accreditations, certifications and recognitions that support the technical competence and quality of its activities. These include ENAC accreditation as a testing laboratory under ISO/IEC 17025, as a product certification body under ISO/IEC 17065 (Notified Body No. 0162), and as a verification body under ISO/IEC 17029 and ISO 14065, within the respective accredited scopes. Leitat also has a quality management system compliant with ISO 9001, covering most of its services, and ISO 13485 for activities related to the design and development of medical devices.
It also holds ISO 14001 and EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) environmental certifications for all activities carried out at its main headquarters in Terrassa.
Leitat collaborates with companies and institutions through R&D projects, technology services and cooperation agreements tailored to the needs of each organisation. It participates in publicly funded European and national projects —more than 300 European projects and 700 national projects over the past ten years— and develops private projects with companies. Collaboration models may include R&D contracts, dedicated teams, joint solution development, the transfer or licensing of intellectual property, and medium- and long-term technology cooperation agreements.
