Leitat, in collaboration with the company Ariño Duglass, has developed a project in which additive manufacturing enables the production of parts for full-scale railway mock-ups using large-format 3D printing.
Aimed at reducing both time and costs in the production process, Leitat brings its expertise in additive manufacturing to support Ariño Duglass in the implementation of these advanced technologies.
Throughout the project, Leitat advised the company in identifying components suitable for 3D printing, as well as selecting the most appropriate materials and technologies. Once these components were selected, Leitat supported Ariño Duglass in their design, optimization, and post-processing. Finally, demonstrators were produced to allow the company to validate them. This will help Ariño Duglass incorporate additive manufacturing into their production processes for the railway sector, improving efficiency while meeting technical requirements.
Through this project, 3D printing technology opens new possibilities for product development at Ariño Duglass, enabling increased functionality of components while also reducing production time and cost.
This project is part of the Catalonia Digital Innovation Hub (DIH4CAT), through PADIH call and is funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, supported by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism and EOI.
