C4B holds M6 meeting in Kozani to advance circular bioeconomy models in Europe

The consortium of the C4B project, coordinated by Leitat Technological Center and formed by 11 partners, gathered on 11 June 2024 at the Regional Union of Municipalities of Western Macedonia in Kozani, Greece, to advance its mission of developing fair and sustainable business models for Europe’s circular bioeconomy.

During the meeting, partners analysed real case studies to identify key challenges across different value chains and refine a collaborative framework that brings together farmers, foresters, and industry stakeholders. One of the highlights was a workshop with local actors, which helped validate a draft survey through interactive activities. These contributions will help strengthen tools for better understanding rural business dynamics.

In addition, the team explored methodologies for assessing the sustainability impact of the proposed models and ensuring their scalability and replicability across diverse rural contexts. The session concluded with a project management review and an open discussion to align the upcoming steps of the project.

The meeting reaffirmed C4B’s commitment to empowering rural communities and promoting innovation in the bioeconomy.

During the session, Leitat presented its work on the sustainability assessment framework, including the selection of key indicators to evaluate the case studies. The next steps involve launching the environmental, economic, and social impact assessments to support the final evaluation of the demo-cases as they enter their last development phase.

Beyond the working sessions, the consortium enjoyed shared moments with a dinner at Deka Wine Restaurant and a lunch at Tip Top Restaurant, further strengthening the collaboration among partners.
