IXORIGUE is driving the IoT Consumption and Positioning Optimization Project for Livestock Monitoring

IXORIGUE is driving the IoT Consumption and Positioning Optimization Project for Livestock Monitoring, which aims to improve the energy efficiency and capabilities of its devices for behavioral monitoring of livestock in open spaces. The initiative seeks to reduce equipment consumption, enhance performance, and explore new geopositioning strategies that decrease reliance on high-consumption technologies, such as frequent-interval GNSS.

At Leitat, we provide technological support for the project within the framework of the PADIH program, contributing our expertise in electronics, IoT, and energy optimization. Our role includes analyzing the current design of IXORIGUE devices, researching hardware and software strategies to reduce energy consumption, and evaluating communication and positioning technologies adapted to rural environments.

Additionally, Leitat leads the development phase of new intercommunication strategies and hardware/firmware design that maximize energy use within the device. Through this collaboration, we help strengthen IXORIGUE’s technological innovation and promote more efficient and sustainable solutions for intelligent livestock monitoring.
