The Microbiology Laboratory of the Advanced Technological Services (STA) area at Leitat has obtained a new accreditation from the Spanish National Accreditation Body (ENAC) within the healthcare sector, in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
This accreditation includes methods EN 1276, EN 1650, EN 13697, and EN 13704 for testing the efficacy of disinfectants, enabling the evaluation of bactericidal, fungicidal, and sporicidal activity in different types of products.
With this extension, Leitat becomes the only technology center in Catalonia accredited to perform tests according to these standards. Additionally, for EN 13704, it is the second accredited laboratory in Spain and the only one located in Catalonia.
This milestone strengthens Leitat’s ability to deliver reliable and high-quality microbiological testing services, reinforcing its commitment to supporting industry needs in areas such as product safety and effectiveness.
