NET-FUELS Second Review Meeting held at Germany

On December 18–19, the NET-FUELS Consortium held its Month 38 meeting, followed by the Review Meeting for the second Reporting Period. The sessions took place at the facilities of Fraunhofer UMSICHT in Sulzbach-Rosenberg (Germany), one of the key partners of the project.

The meeting included the participation of the Project Officer, who provided constructive feedback and guidance as the project enters its final stage. Across the two days, partners reviewed the status of all ongoing activities, discussed technical progress, and aligned on upcoming milestones.

The consortium confirmed that NET-FUELS is advancing at a steady and positive pace. All work packages presented their updates, highlighting achievements completed during the last period and the steps ahead for the final implementation phase. The meeting fostered productive exchanges, enabling partners to refine technical approaches and ensure coordinated progress across the project.

Leitat presented the latest progress in the development of the project’s reactor system. Daniele Molognoni, Principal Researcher, showcased several key achievements:

  • The reactor has been fully designed.
  • Optimization work has been completed based on laboratory results.
  • Validation activities at lab scale have been successfully achieved.
  • The team is now approaching the construction of the pilot reactor, marking an important milestone for the project.

Leitat’s contribution continues to play a central role in moving the NET-FUELS system from design to real-world implementation.

During the visit, partners had the opportunity to tour the Fraunhofer UMSICHT facilities, gaining deeper insight into the technologies, infrastructure, and research capabilities supporting the project. The on-site discussions further strengthened collaboration among the consortium members.

A special thanks goes to Martin Meiller and the Fraunhofer team for their warm hospitality and excellent organization of the event.
