Leitat will once again participate in Expoquimia 2026, the leading event for the chemical and process industry, taking place from June 2 to 5 at Fira de Barcelona – Gran Via venue.
In the year of its 120th anniversary, Leitat reinforces its presence at Expoquimia as a leading technological centre in applied research and technology transfer, promoting innovative solutions focused on sustainability, industrial competitiveness and the technological transformation of production processes.
During the event, Leitat will showcase different technological capabilities and applied projects related to the development of new sustainable materials, circular economy, industrial digitalisation, artificial intelligence and advanced technologies applied to the chemical and process industry.
In this edition, Leitat will focus on areas such as the development of safer and more circular materials, the valorisation of industrial resources and by-products, process optimisation, and the application of advanced technologies to improve industrial efficiency and sustainability.

🗣️ Francesc Cortés, Senior Robotics Researcher at Leitat, will participate as keynote speaker in this session organised by the Col·legi d’Enginyers Industrials de Catalunya.
The session will analyse current and future applications of advanced robotics, artificial intelligence and autonomous systems in complex industrial environments such as the chemical industry, addressing opportunities, challenges and emerging technological trends.
“Safer and more circular materials: transforming the future of polyurethanes”

🗣️ David Amantia, Head of Applied Chemistry and Materials Department at Leitat, will moderate this session focused on the role of innovation in materials to improve industrial sustainability and competitiveness.
The round table will address topics such as by-product valorisation, reduction of energy consumption and emissions, collaboration among value chain stakeholders, and the application of artificial intelligence in materials development and process optimisation.
Jorge Pérez, R&D&I Director at Grupo IQE, and Fernando Lorenzo, Innovation and Quality Director at Christeyns, will also participate.
