Leitat wraps up Advanced Factories by reinforcing its leadership in innovation for Industry 4.0

  • The technology center, Global Partner of the annual gathering of industrial leaders, ends its participation in this edition with high interest in the prototypes from its Digital Industry area and a large number of high-value contacts.
  • Leitat’s booth became a meeting point for top institutional authorities interested in discovering the latest solutions for industrial digitalization.
  • After the success of this edition, with 38,000 professionals attending and over 350 contacts made, Leitat confirms it will continue supporting the event and maintain a strong presence next year.

Leitat has consolidated its role as a technological benchmark during Advanced Factories, the Industry 4.0 and automation congress held from April 8 to 10 in Barcelona, which brought together more than 38,000 professionals from the sector. The event, where Leitat participated as a Global Partner and had a strong presence in both the conference program and various congress spaces — including the naming of the main stage — has once again positioned Barcelona as the epicenter of industrial innovation.

The technology center used the opportunity to showcase its technological capabilities and its commitment to driving the digital transformation of industrial companies — attributes that position it as a strategic innovation partner at both national and international levels.

Over the course of the three days, Leitat presented its solutions in industrial digitalization, automation, and new production models. Among the various prototypes showcased at the event were advances in digitalization and monitoring in the medical technology sector, along with new systems for oxygen therapy, 3D printing, robotics, high-precision 3D scanning, and microplastic detection, among others.

Leitat’s prominent role at Advanced Factories was evident at its booth, which became a key networking space for professionals and companies interested in digital industry solutions. This enabled the center to close numerous agreements and establish over 350 high-value contacts.

Once again, Advanced Factories attracted institutional representatives who came to learn about Leitat’s latest innovation projects. Among those who visited the booth were the Minister of Industry, Jordi Hereu; the Barcelona City Councilor for Economic Promotion and Employment, Raquel Gil; the Director General of Industry of the Government of Catalonia, Oriol Alcoba; the Secretary for Digital Policies, Maria Galindo; and the Minister for Industry and the Ecological and Digital Business Transition of the Government of Navarra, Carlos Méndez.

For us, Advanced Factories is a strategic opportunity to connect with industry and show how technology is key to achieving competitiveness, efficiency, and sustainability,” says Jordi Cabrafiga, General Director of Leitat. “The large number of visits and the interest in our technological expertise, advancements, and solutions confirm that we are on the right path to connect, innovate, transform, and enhance the competitiveness of companies and organizations,” he adds.

Following Advanced Factories, Leitat is now preparing for its prominent participation in Food4Future, the innovation congress for the food industry, taking place May 13–15 at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre. The center thus reaffirms its commitment to leading the transformation of this key sector — food — through science and technology, aiming for a more sustainable, safer, and efficient model.

Under the motto “Feeding Innovation,” the technology center will present its latest advances and solutions in Bilbao, designed to tackle the major challenges in the food industry. Leitat will showcase innovative proposals in three main areas — nutrition, health, and Food 4.0 — including standout projects on personalized nutrition, new proteins, plant-based food, bioactive ingredients, food safety, and the digitalization of food production processes, among others.
