At Leitat, we held a new follow-up meeting for the NIMBI project together with our project partner, ACCIONA, at our facilities.
During the session, teams from both organizations shared the progress achieved in optimizing the bioelectrochemical reactor developed within the framework of the project. This innovative system aims to recover ammoniacal nitrogen and produce hydrogen from wastewater, thus contributing to a circular economy model and the transition towards more sustainable energy sources.
The meeting also allowed us to define the next steps related to the construction of the pilot plant, which will be implemented at the Abrera WWTP in the coming months. This milestone will mark a new stage in the technological development of NIMBI and in the strengthening of the collaboration between the Leitat and ACCIONA teams.
Leitat would like to thank Pau Bosch, Rubén Rodríguez, Jorge Luque, Iván Ortiz, Mireia Marcé Escalé, Federico Ferrari, and Miriam Carolina Pérez Cova for their participation and commitment, whose work and expertise are essential to the success of the project.
