Innovation in Materials for Advanced High-Temperature and Dual-Use Applications
Abstract:
The IRATI project (Innovation in Materials for Advanced High-Temperature and Dual-Use Applications), funded under the CDTI Cervera Network 2025 call, aims to promote the development of advanced materials capable of operating in extreme environments, with applications in both civil and defence sectors.
In this context, Leitat participates as a technological partner within a consortium of centres of excellence led by LORTEK and composed of CEIT, AIDIMME, IDONIAL and LUREDERRA. Together, the consortium contributes to the comprehensive development of the value chain, from materials design and manufacturing to validation and industrial transfer.
Leitat plays a key role in cross-cutting activities within the network, including technology transfer to strategic industrial sectors, the promotion of the innovation ecosystem, and the attraction and training of highly qualified talent, thereby strengthening scientific and technological capabilities in advanced materials.
Through its participation in IRATI, Leitat reinforces its position in the field of advanced materials and related manufacturing technologies, helping to enhance the competitiveness of key sectors such as energy, aerospace, automotive and defence, while aligning with European priorities regarding technological autonomy and industrial transition.
Leitat’s role in the project:
Leitat’s participation focuses on the development and optimisation of advanced materials—including metallic alloys, nanomaterials and functional coatings—through the use of innovative manufacturing and post-processing technologies, as well as on the characterisation and validation of their properties unde
