Leitat will take part in meetechSpain 2026, the annual event organised by Fedit, Federación Española de Centros Tecnológicos, which will take place on 14 and 15 October at UZalacaín-La Finca, Madrid. Under the theme “Where technology and industry connect”, the event will bring together technological centres, companies and other innovation ecosystem stakeholders to share capabilities, explore new challenges and create opportunities for collaboration.
This year’s edition will focus on habitability beyond Earth, a theme that addresses some of the major technological challenges associated with aerospace development and extreme environments. Materials, healthcare, energy, food, robotics, digital technologies, logistics, construction, transport, the circular economy, artificial intelligence and biotechnology are among the areas coming together around this challenge.
Technology developed for complex challenges
The approach of meetechSpain reflects the role of Technological Centres as agents of applied research and knowledge transfer to industry. Many of the technologies needed to operate in extreme environments require solutions capable of functioning under demanding conditions, but their applications can extend to other sectors and address specific needs across industry and society.
In this context, Leitat works on the development and transfer of technologies across a wide range of fields, connecting scientific and technological capabilities with business challenges and industrial needs. Taking part in meetechSpain will provide an opportunity to showcase this approach and share capabilities with companies and other Technological Centres.
A space to connect technology and industry
One of the main objectives of meetechSpain is to foster collaboration between Technological Centres and companies. This year’s programme includes different spaces dedicated to this purpose, including the Tech&Touch area for technology demonstrators, the Strategic Forum, the Innovation Club, the Technological Challenge and various networking activities.
The event will bring together more than 500 attendees, 60 Technological Centres and over 80 organisations, as well as showcasing 15 technology demonstrators. Through these spaces, meetechSpain aims to bring the capabilities of Technological Centres closer to companies and facilitate new conversations around innovation and technology development projects.
Leitat’s participation in meetechSpain 2026 is part of its commitment to applied research, technology transfer and collaboration with companies and other stakeholders across the innovation ecosystem.
