Leitat has received €464,095.00 in funding to implement the Strategic Plan for Participation in Horizon Europe 2026-2027, under the call Support for the Preparation and Management of European Projects and the Attraction of International Talent, promoted by the Agencia Española de Investigación (AEI) within the 2024-2027 State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research.
The main objective of the plan is to strengthen Leitat’s capacity to increase its participation and leadership in Horizon Europe and other European R&I programmes. To achieve this, the strategy is built around three main pillars: promoting new opportunities and strategic partnerships, improving the quality of proposals through training and specialised support, and strengthening the coordination and implementation of European projects to maximise their impact.
Through its European Projects Office (EPO), structured around the Healthcare, Bioeconomy, Energy and Mobility/Industry areas, Leitat will implement actions aimed at consolidating its position within the European innovation ecosystem, increasing the number of competitive proposals and strengthening collaboration with companies, organisations and institutions at both national and international levels.
The plan also incorporates new artificial intelligence-based tools to optimise proposal preparation and management processes, together with a knowledge development and capitalisation strategy designed to accelerate technology transfer and maximise the impact of research and innovation activities.
Through this initiative, Leitat expects to increase its return from European funding programmes, strengthen the Spanish innovation ecosystem, foster the creation of highly skilled jobs, and promote equal opportunities and diversity across research and innovation.
