X-SEED Project: Strengthening Collaboration and Advancing Hydrogen Innovation

Recently, the X-SEED project reached two significant milestones in Milan, Italy, with the successful execution of its first workshop and the Month 12 consortium meeting, both hosted at the impressive De Nora facilities.

On the first day, we held the eagerly anticipated X-SEED Workshop, which gathered over 100 participants both in person and online. The event was a resounding success, featuring an engaging welcome, followed by insightful presentations from sister projects funded under the Horizon-JTI-CLEANH2-2023-01-01 call, including AEMELIA, SEAL-HYDROGEN, REDHY, and EXSOTHyC. Additionally, we had technical lectures from industry experts such as Chiara Di Bari (Industrie De Nora) on catalysts and electrodes for water electrolysis, and Umberto Eynard and Alessandro Arrigoni (Joint Research Centre) on sustainability and life cycle assessment in electrolyzer development. Attendees also had the exclusive opportunity to tour De Nora’s laboratories, where they were introduced to cutting-edge innovations in the field.

The following day, we held the Month 12 Consortium Meeting. This meeting provided an invaluable opportunity to review the current status of the project, discuss future directions, and further strengthen collaboration among partners. Throughout the sessions, we engaged in productive discussions covering all work packages, which allowed us to assess progress and fine-tune our strategies to meet our objectives. The meeting also included a dinner that facilitated informal networking and reinforced the bonds within the consortium.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to De Nora for their warm hospitality and to all consortium members for their active participation and valuable contributions. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we continue to make significant strides towards the success of X-SEED and the future of hydrogen.
