The Final Conference of the project FP4BATIW “Fostering partnerships for the implementation of best available technologies for water treatment & management in the Mediterranean” took place 13-14 July 2016 in Barcelona, at Casa Convalescència (Sant Antoni Maria Claret Street, 171. 08041). Our environmental expert was invited to give a speech about innovative bio-economy solutions to valorise livestock manure into a range of stabilised soil improving materials for environmental sustainability and economic benefit for European agriculture.
The event brought together the best of brains for some roundtable discussions on the direction and flow of water technologies in the Mediterranean Countries following a NEXUS approach in the next decade.
It was an excellent opportunity for leading experts, industrialists, government officials, and representatives of civil society to meet, present their research activities and experiences, and discuss new concepts and technologies.

Through a programme of keynote speeches, expert talks, and panel discussions, participants gained an overview of current and upcoming developments in water treatment technologies.

The best 3 ideas of the FP4BATIW Prize were presented to a large audience at the final conference of FP4BATIW, and the winners will meet investors in Barcelona. Additionally, other innovative ideas from entrepreneurs were presented.
Brokerage event
Moreover, a brokerage event was organized in order to establish successful relationships between researchers and industrial companies. It was an opportunity for setting up new partnerships and launching new collaborative project proposals.
