RAWMINA Consortium Meets in Sevilla for the Final Review Meeting

The final review meeting of the RAWMINA project was held on 29–30 September in Sevilla, hosted by Cobre Las Cruces (CLC), part of First Quantum Minerals. This event marked the culmination of over four years of collaborative research and innovation, bringing together the project consortium and the European Commission project officer to review and celebrate the results achieved.

Day 1: Showcasing Project Results

The first day focused on presenting the main outcomes and technological advances of the RAWMINA project. Consortium partners shared the progress made and the tangible impact of their joint work in developing innovative solutions for sustainable mining and resource recovery. It was a proud moment for all participants to reflect on the journey and achievements accomplished since the project’s inception.

Day 2: Visit to Cobre Las Cruces Facilities

The second day included a guided tour of CLC’s state-of-the-art facilities, located in the Iberian Pyrite Belt. Participants visited both the excavation site and the pilot plant developed under the RAWMINA project, where the technologies were demonstrated in operation.
This visit offered a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the practical applications and potential impact of the project’s innovations in real industrial environments.

Highlights of the event:

The meeting confirmed the strong progress of the project and demonstrated the successful implementation of RAWMINA’s technologies at pilot scale.

Leitat’s Participation:

Leitat Technological Center was represented by Diego Morillo and Gerard Jorba, who actively contributed to the final discussions and project review.
The successful completion of this phase represents an important milestone for the consortium. It would not have been possible without the dedication and collaboration of all partners involved.

The RAWMINA consortium extends its sincere gratitude to each partner for their continued commitment and effort throughout the project. Together, we have taken meaningful steps towards a more sustainable and resource-efficient mining sector.
