The ReLEAF consortium recently gathered in Wageningen, The Netherlands, for its biannual General Assembly, marking an important milestone as the project reaches its halfway point. After 24 months of collaborative work, the consortium now enters the second phase of the project with two more years of joint efforts ahead to advance innovative solutions for the bio-based fertilizers industry.
During the two-day meeting, project partners shared the progress and key outcomes achieved so far across the different work packages. The agenda also included dedicated workshops focused on updating exploitation strategies for the project’s results and addressing Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD), highlighting the importance of integrating safety, sustainability and circularity throughout innovation processes.
As coordinator of the project, Leitat contributes to ReLEAF through several multidisciplinary teams, including Environmental Technologies, Applied Microbiology & Biotechnologies, Sustainability – Social Innovation, and Project Management. Carolina Carbó, Sergi Durán and Gerard Jorba represented the coordination team during the meeting.
The consortium would also like to thank the European Federation of Food Science and Technology for hosting the meeting in Wageningen and for the excellent organization.
