As part of our 120th anniversary, we present “Terrassa, cradle of innovation”, a roundtable discussion reflecting on the historical and current role of the city in industrial, technological and business development.
The conversation brings together representatives from key institutions and organisations across the territory to analyse how Terrassa has evolved over the decades and how it continues to position itself as a benchmark environment for innovation and industry.
Participants include:
- Joan Salvador, Deputy Mayor of Ajuntament de Terrassa;
- Xavier Panés, President of CECOT;
- Ramon Talamàs, President of Cambra de Comerç de Terrassa;
- Francesc Roca, President of Institut Industrial de Terrassa- Gremi Tèxtil.
During the session, participants share their views on the main challenges facing the industrial and business ecosystem, as well as the need to strengthen collaboration between public administration, companies, universities and technological centres.
The discussion places special emphasis on topics such as adaptation to new industrial trends, sustainability, digitalisation, talent attraction and knowledge transfer as key factors in maintaining the competitiveness of the region.
The role of Leitat as a connector between research and industry is also highlighted, fostering innovation and contributing to the development of new technological solutions for companies.
With this audiovisual piece, we aim to highlight Terrassa as an ecosystem where industrial tradition, talent and innovation continue to move forward together to generate economic and social impact.
