ECS4DRES Kick-off Meeting at Infineon Technologies AG in Neubiberg, Germany

On 2–3 July 2024, the ECS4DRES project consortium, composed of 31 partners, met at Infineon Technologies AG in Neubiberg, Germany, to officially kick off the project.

The meeting laid the foundation for developing flexible and resilient distributed energy systems (DRES).

The first day included an introduction to the project objectives, partner profiles, and initial work on system requirements, architecture, and design, along with strategies to maximise the project’s societal and technological impact.

On the second day, discussions focused on project management, upcoming hardware developments, AI-based algorithms, software integration, and the validation of hydrogen-based energy systems. Initial efforts will concentrate on system design, validation, and outreach, while hardware and AI-related tasks will begin in three months.

During the kick-off meeting, all partners gave brief presentations on their roles and contributions. Leitat highlighted its involvement in developing energy management strategies and integrating smart electronic systems to support the creation of more resilient and efficient distributed energy systems.

Beyond the working sessions, consortium members enjoyed a joint dinner.
