The SURFS-UP project consortium recently gathered in Leipzig, Germany, for its 24-month meeting, marking an important milestone in the project’s progress towards developing a Safe and Sustainable by Design surfactant for the European market.
Hosted by project partner DBFZ Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum gemeinnützige GmbH, the two-day meeting brought together consortium members to review the achievements reached so far, discuss ongoing activities, and coordinate the next steps for the coming project phases.
Leitat was represented by Jismell Dahiana Reyes, Senior Researcher in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods – Home Care division, who actively contributed to the technical discussions and collaborative workshops held throughout the meeting.
Beyond the project reviews, participants had the opportunity to visit DBFZ’s biogas research facilities and gain first-hand insight into the organisation’s work in biomass and bioenergy innovation.
The consortium would like to thank DBFZ for its excellent organisation and hospitality. As SURFS-UP enters the second half of its implementation period, partners remain focused on accelerating the development of sustainable surfactant solutions that support Europe’s green transition.
