Leitat recently co-organised the 4th Consortium Meeting (CM4) of the RecAL project together with CELSA, welcoming consortium partners to Barcelona on April 21–22, 2026. The meeting brought together 17 partners from across Europe for two days of collaborative discussions, technical workshops, and strategic planning sessions focused on the next phase of the project.
Throughout the meeting, partners reviewed the progress achieved across the different Work Package Clusters (WPCs), aligned on key deliverables, and discussed upcoming milestones and project timelines. The agenda also included focused group sessions and a General Assembly dedicated to reinforcing collaboration and ensuring the successful continuation of project activities.
One of the highlights of the event was the Leitat Lab Tour, where participants had the opportunity to visit Leitat’s state-of-the-art facilities and gain first-hand insight into the research and innovation activities supporting the RecAL project.
During the meeting, Leitat also presented the latest advances in AI dataset expansion and economic feasibility studies for cleaning samples, reaffirming its commitment to technical excellence and collaborative innovation.
In addition, within the framework of the project, Leitat unveiled LEISORT, an initiative focused on integrating optical and robotic technologies to improve efficiency and sustainability in industrial sorting processes.
The consortium meeting further strengthened cooperation among project partners and reinforced the shared commitment to advancing innovative and sustainable solutions for the aluminium value chain.
