The PV-MOREDE project aims at the market penetration of an innovative system for recycling photovoltaic panels at the end of their life cycle. The system is an innovative mobile device capable of performing a complete treatment of PV panels where they are installed. This allows treating small quantities of PV panels on-site and on demand, offering a much cheaper and more easily accessible alternative compared to industrial waste systems. The device is particularly suitable for treating first-generation photovoltaic panels, and it allows obtaining at least three types of recoverable waste products.
- Glass with pre-defined granulometric characteristics, by means of qualification systems widely tested, ready for the oven.
- Photosensitive metallic material to be reused for the production of new panels.
- «Light compound», mainly consisting of material with a high calorific (plastic) value that may be reused for energy recovery.
LEITAT’s role in the project: Co-beneficiary of the project is responsible for:
- LCA, LCE
- Technology provider
- Market analysis in Spain
- Attend to the common dissemination activities
