On the 8th of May, the 2019 edition of the ACCIÓ Fòrum d’Inversió took place for the 4th consecutive time. A total of 650 persons attended to listen to 21 startup pitches divided into 3 categories: life and health sciences, ICT, and other technologies. In addition, a session entitled TECH DEMO took place where Michele Manca, researcher at Leitat, presented a new technology for smart dynamic windows called SUNDACING.
SUNDANCING aims to develop a new generation of smart dynamic windows capable of intelligently responding to daily and seasonal sunlight variations, in such a manner to reduce (up to 35%) the energy consumption for HVAC (Heating, ventilating and air conditioning) and artificial lighting while guaranteeing at any time the maximizing visual and thermal comfort.
After listening to the pitches, the public voted to choose the 9 finalists, who had 5 minutes to expose their projects to the panel of investors. Out of these emerged the winning startup with the greatest potential for international growth.
