The ZEST consortium gathered in Lübeck (Germany) on 5–6 May for its General Assembly, kindly hosted by Tate & Lyle. The meeting brought together project partners to review the strong progress achieved across several technical areas, including bioreactor design, fermentation scale-up, downstream processing and digital modelling.
The consortium also discussed the growing impact of the project’s dissemination and communication activities, which continue to increase the project’s visibility across events and channels at European level.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the visit to Tate & Lyle’s laboratory facilities, where partners had the opportunity to learn more about the host’s work and infrastructure through an insightful guided tour.
Leitat was represented by Inma Sánchez, who attended the meeting in person, and Virginia Cazzagon, who participated remotely. Together, they led the WP6 session and delivered a dedicated workshop focused on safety and sustainability aspects, encouraging valuable discussions among consortium partners.
As the project moves forward, the consortium will continue working on upcoming deliverables, technical integration, process scale-up and key regulatory and sustainability challenges, reinforcing its commitment to developing innovative and sustainable protein solutions.
