10th Conference of the Framework Program for Research and Innovation of the European Union in Spain

Under the motto «Towards a New Horizon», the CDTI and the European Commission, in collaboration with the Board of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha, are organizing the 10th Conference of the European Union’s Framework Program for Research and Innovation in Spain, which will be held on November 20 at the Palacio de Congresos de Toledo.

Leitat is actively participating in this event by presenting four posters of the following projects:

All these projects are financed under the Horizon 2020 framework and coordinated by Leitat.

Conference Objectives

The main objective of the conference is to analyze Spain’s participation in Horizon 2020, with the goal of drawing conclusions that will help Spanish entities better approach the calls for proposals during the last years of the program.

The conference will also review the novelties introduced by the pilot of the European Innovation Council (EIC) aimed at bringing research closer to the market. Furthermore, the proposal for Horizon Europe, the future program, will be presented and analyzed with the help of the main Spanish participants.

After the institutional inauguration, which will be attended by the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities and a representative from the Board of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha, the main conference titled «Current status of the Framework Program Horizon 2020 and the future Horizon Europe» will be delivered by the Deputy Director General of the DG Research and Innovation of the European Commission.

In the morning plenary session called «Horizon 2020, last period full of opportunities», two round tables will be held. The first one will focus on reviewing the achievements made so far and the opportunities that still exist in the last years of the current Framework Program (FP).

The afternoon session will feature two other round tables, which will focus on the future program, «Horizon Europe, the immediate future». These will analyze the proposal from the European Commission from two perspectives: first, a more institutional and strategic approach, and second, focusing on the views of the participants.

Additionally, there will be an exhibition of posters from projects coordinated by Spanish entities that have been financed by the Horizon 2020 Program. Entities interested in exhibiting a poster must submit the application form by October 19, 2018.

There will also be opportunities to meet with Horizon 2020 experts to seek advice and explore collaboration opportunities through bilateral meetings with other participants.
