The Launch of the MoeBIOS Project: A Step Towards Sustainable Waste Management

The MoeBIOS project officially kicked off in the vibrant city of Valencia on July 1st and 2nd, 2024. This ambitious initiative, funded by the European Union, aims to revolutionize the waste management of biobased plastics while promoting upcycling in the packaging, textile, and agriculture sectors.

Engaging Discussions and Innovative Strategies

During the meeting, project partners engaged in stimulating discussions about the project’s goals and innovative strategies for a transformative journey ahead. A tour of ITENE’s state-of-the-art facilities further inspired participants, highlighting the incredible potential of technology and collaboration.

Leitat’s Expertise in Innovation

With Leitat contributing its expertise in Photonics, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence, MoeBIOS is well-positioned to drive cutting-edge innovation for a more sustainable future. This project focuses on developing three value chains with separate recycling streams for bioplastics to improve waste management across Europe. The aim is to sort, condition, and valorize waste streams from packaging, agriculture, and textile industries into high-quality, functional end-products while ensuring end-user acceptance.

Stay tuned for updates as the MoeBIOS project works towards building a circular (bio)economy!
